Privacy Policy Update

By Tony_Hilliam, May 25 2018

Many of you will be aware that there have been some significant changes to privacy laws in the European Economic Area with the introduction on May 25th, 2018 of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

The GDPR seeks to create a harmonised data protection law framework across the EU and aims to give back to data subjects, control of their personal data, whilst imposing strict rules on those hosting and processing this data, anywhere in the world.

While GDPR applies primarily to businesses with an establishment in the EU, it also applies to any business providing services to individuals inside the EU. However, N3V Games are applying this higher standard to all of our customers around the world.

If you currently have a MyTrainz account and if you currently receive news and updates from our team, this means that we have some of your personal data recorded. Since our product is primarily a hobby, and since the data we record relates primarily to non-critical information about you that is widely available elsewhere, the risks are extremely small.

Since by law we cannot email you without your consent, we are not sending an email out to our entire customer base. If you are already on our “consent” list (i.e. you have subscribed for one or more of our newsletters), then we will continue to send you similar communications after 25 May 2018. If you would like to opt out of these lists, please log in to your MyTrainz account and update your newsletter preferences.

If you opt out, you will still hear from us from time to time concerning specific services we provide you with (such as when an update to your registered product becomes available). This will bring us in line with the data principles outlined in the GDPR.

We have also updated our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy which you can review by clicking the links.

Thanks for being part of the Trainz Community and please be assured we treat your privacy seriously. We will never sell or share your data with anyone outside our organisation other than those parties who we can legally share the information with so that we can conduct our business of developing and selling computer games, and servicing you, our customers.
