Discover Trainz Classics 1 & 2

In 2006-7, following the successfuly release TRS2006, Auran Games realized that major bi-annual updates were going to be harder and harder to achieve. As technology advanced, so did the cost of development and something had to change in order to ensure the profitability of the project. The decision was made to leverage the enormous contributions of the Trainz community and publish a series of stand-alone content updates in the new "Classics" series.

The first pack was a "double pack" to kick things off with extra value. This concept was the forerunner to today's "DLC" concept. Sadly the community support for these more "minor" updates, even at the greatly reduced price, was not sufficient to sustain the ongoing development and the concept was shelved after the 3rd volume was released.

New content and fantastic new features.

Trainz Classics 1&2 (2007) is a stand-alone edition of Trainz that delivers new signaling, new lighting, new in-game displays and more.

Supplied with each Trainz Classics edition is everything the newcomer needs to build their own worlds and discover the complete Trainz experience.

Import additional content using the Advanced Utilities tool or let Trainz Classics update you via the next Classics release.

Prototypical trains, 3-D in-cab controls and enhanced operational ability all contribute to our most realistic Trainz offering yet.

Trainz Classics 1&2 contains a host of new features and two fantastic routes:

  • Metropolis - a busy city route with trams and loads of activities
  • Harlem Line - a 40km New York line with a mix of commuter and high speed trains.

Take advantage of the powerful and revised Content Manager Plus. The revised entry-level feature set allows users to populate their Surveyor menus at their own pace and to their own taste without being overwhelmed by the installed content. Prototypical, recognizable traffic and realistic in-cab features enhance the operational realism. Positional accuracy has been cross referenced with aerial photography and several commissioned ground surveys undertaken on location.

  • A flexible Cab Signalling system.
  • A headlight dimmer system.
  • Flashing ditch-lights.
  • Train controlled sounds, lights and boom gates at build-in road crossings.
  • Automatic Train Protection options.
  • New sound functions for better representation of electric traction.
  • A new Freeway feature supporting and including one way and multi-lane roads.
  • Remodelled roadway traffic featuring working head lights.
  • Computerised in-cab displays.
  • Improved Heads-Up-Display options.
  • Improved session-design options.
