By Shaine Bennett, April 09 2015

Today we are proud to announce the new v1.2 update to the Community Edition of Trainz: A New Era is available. It's been a long and winding road (track?) and this update to Trainz: A New Era is the biggest one yet. We're so close now to the final release that you can practically smell the diesel!

The Community Edition v1.2 update will be available for download via MyTrainz to anyone who has pledged/pre-ordered Trainz: A New Era.

What's new in v1.2

This new update delivers the long awaited 'target graphics', with per-pixel lighting, full world shadows, water reflections, depth-of-field blur and other post processing effects. We've also added new features like CTRL+Mousewheel to adjust your field of view in both Driver and Surveyor (which fixes the 'leaning objects' issue).

Another new feature, is that database rebuilds now take less than 30 seconds for standard installations (no 3rd party content).
